Wild Rose

Description

On the third day he took me to the river
He showed me the roses and we kissed
And the last thing I heard was a muttered word
As he stood smiling above me with a rock in his fist

They call me the wild rose
But my name is Elisa Day
Why they call me it I do not know
For my name is Eliza Day

I think vision of this piece is truly striking, and the time you've spent on the details draws the eye around the image, using all the available space.

Whilst I appreciate the softness/gentleness of the slightly muted colour tones I think that perhaps to enhance the feel of the work you could have brought some of the delicate details to the foreground, for example the fish, he gets a little lost in the blue of the water as do the bubbles. For a realistic touch to the surrealism you could perhaps add some reflections on her arm, and a hint of blue to really make it look as though she is immersed and one with the water, same for the parts of her skin that would naturally reflect the greens of the grass and flowers

The underwater half is almost "there" but you could see if making the grasses and her dress more of a "flow" as though they were eddying in the water like fronds an extra dynamic touch. Though at the same time I love that the mind is almost jarred by the unreal reality and surreal feeling. A development of a sense of depth in the lighting and shadows over all might also help with the underwater half.

Very well done overall though!! Sorry for the massive delay in getting over here to give you some crit!!
